What is Botox/Dysport/Xeomin?
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are known as “neuromodulators”.
This medication temporarily weakens muscle movement in targeted areas. We use Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin to decrease motion of the facial muscles that create unpleasant creases or lines. The most common areas treated are the “glabella” also known as the frown lines between the eyebrows. “Crow’s feet” also known as the wrinkles created around the eyes with a smile and forehead wrinkles.
Can Botox/Dysport/Xeomin used for anything else?
Yes, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin can be also be used to perform a subtle eyebrow lift, upturn the corners of the mouth, soften the wrinkles on the chin, all without having to get
surgery. It is also helpful in decreasing excess sweating in the armpits, known as hyperhidrosis.
What is the down time and how long will my results last?
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, can be performed in the doctor’s office with minimal discomfort and no downtime. Results do vary, but treatments usually last for 3 to 4
months. Once the treatment is completely gone, you will regain your original muscle movement and anatomy. Facial muscles do not become dependent on Botox, Dysport,
or Xeomin – so the treated area will not become worse with each use of the injections.
